Mpox (monkeypox) is a viral infection that can spread through close physical contact, including sexual contact.

Symptoms

  • Rash or lesions on the skin, mouth, or genitals
  • Fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes
  • Symptoms usually appear within 1–2 weeks of exposure

How it spreads

  • Close skin-to-skin contact, including during sex
